Frequently asked questions

The course fee includes the following items:

Books, all scheduled training sessions, rental gear, pool fees, entry fees, certification fees, and boat fees

These items are NOT included in the course fee:

Any parking fees, make-up sessions, and crew tips (common on boats)

Upon the completion of the course, you will receive an Open Water Scuba Diver certification from SDI. This certification is suitable for open water dives to 60 feet on compressed air.

For deeper dives or other mixed gasses, contact us about specialty courses.

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification is recognized globally. SDI is a part of the Worldwide Recreational Scuba Training Council which sets global standards for Scuba training.

We make every effort to include a boat dive during class, and this typically happens on the final day. However, weather or other circumstances may prevent a boat from running. If the boat is unable to run, you may be given a choice to perform dives from shore or to delay until a boat is available.

Rental gear is included in your class fee. However, we recommend each diver have their own mask, fins, and snorkel. These are personal-fit items. Rental fins especially can be difficult to fit well, and masks and snorkels are in contact with your face, nose, and mouth. Due to Covid-19 protocols we highly recommend owning these items.

Not only is it more hygienic to own your own mask, fins, and snorkel, but it can be difficult to find these items for rent, especially when traveling.
